22 Mar Childcare for Front Line Key Workers
Thank you all for keeping your children home where it is at all possible. It is crucial that we all practise Social Distancing where possible to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
As you are aware, the Government have asked Key Workers and parents of children with EHCPs to only send their children to school when they have NO POSSIBLE alternative.
Being the terrific families you are we have only a very few children attending childcare and we realise this is because of the very important nature of the work the parents do.
I am very grateful to the staff of Mapperley and Horsley for helping us to facilitate this important provision, when they have their own families to consider and have had to hurriedly respond to updates from Government.
With such small numbers of children needing a place, we are in the fortunate position of being able to combine our offer and use Horsley as a base in the time to come, which will also benefit children, their families and staff as we move towards a closer relationship in the Summer Term.
Please can we ask that parents drop and collect their children from the Horsley school gate and do not enter the school site at all during this time, in line with prevention advice. A member of staff will be at the gate to meet you. School childcare hours are 9-3.30pm.
Children do not require school uniform, but should bring a personal water bottle with them.
Please look after yourselves and your families and we look forward to seeing everyone in the (hopefully near) future.
Mr Cripps and Mr Leeson
