17th July 2020

Dear Horsley families,

As we reach the end of this unusual school year, I would like to thank you all for your cooperation & support this school year on behalf of everyone in school. For some of our families the end of this school year marks the end of your time at Horsley & I would like to thank you for choosing to send your child to Horsley & I wish them every success in Year 7 & beyond. Please do keep in touch with us. I would also like to thank all the staff & governors for their dedication, commitment & hard work. I would also like to thank Paul Leeson for his support & for growing such a wonderful school team & school community at Horsley. I would also like to thank the most important people- the children- for their contribution, enthusiasm & for making our work in schools the delight that it is.
I am pleased that we will welcome back everyone full time in September- I am really looking forward to working with you all. The first day back for Years 1 to 6 children will be Thursday 3rd September, with our new Reception children having a phased start from Monday 7th September (mornings only Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, then morning plus lunchtime Thursday & Friday). Our INSET dates for the school year ahead are: 2nd September, 23rd October, 22nd February, 7th June & 22nd July next year.
It was great to finally meet many of you on Wednesday when reports were collected.
I will send details to you soon via Parenthub with further information about school in September. The main difference is likely to be staggered start & collection times for each class, but we are aiming to keep the school experience as normal as possible, whilst ensuring good health & safety procedures.
Should you need anything from school then please email info@horsley.derbyshire.sch.uk or headteacher@horsley.derbyshire.sch.uk Responses may take a little longer than usual due to the holiday period but we will get back to you.
Thank you once again,
Kind regards,

Richard Cripps
