  • Merry Christmas!

    Thu 23 Dec 2021

Thank you to everyone in our school community for all your support this term. A huge thank you to the Horsley staff team, who have been wonderful once again, in what has been a particularly challenging term.

Thank you to all our families for your continued support, kind words & emails, your generous Christmas gifts & well wishes too.

To those children & staff who are currently unwell, we wish you a speedy recovery & look forward to seeing you back with us next term.

We know that full attendance at school & the ‘experience’ of school life is essential for all children.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to parents & carers towards the end of term, but are pleased to have remained open, despite staff absence. We look forward to seeing all our children back in school for the start of the new term.

On behalf of the governors, children & staff of Horsley CE Primary, I would like to wish all our families & friends, a happy, healthy Christmas & all the very best for 2022.

We hope that you enjoy the watching the recording of the Nativity- thank you again to Mrs Cutmore for filming & editing the performance. Great to see that the recording has had over 90 viewings already!

Look after yourselves everyone & should you need to get in touch with school during the Christmas break, then please do so.

Thank you! A huge Horsley thank you to Vicky an everyone at The Sitwell Arms for donating such a beautiful Christmas tree to
school for us to have in the playground. We can’t wait to put the children’s decorations on it!
Naming Competition As you know our classes are currently named Class 1,2,3 & 4. We would really like the
children to decide on the names for the 4 classes, such as, animal names, names relating to local history- I am
sure the children will come up with great ideas. We would also like the children to design logos to go with each
class name, which will be then be recreated by a designer. The winning class names will be chosen by staff &
governors, with a prize for the winner. Please see entry form below. Children will be given paper copies of the
    entry sheet.

    Tue 21 Sep 2021

It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying their first weeks back in school, learning & playing together again.
Our new Reception cohort are finding their feet & already starting to settle into school too. There has been a wonderful
feeling around school & the teachers have been impressed with how the children have started the new year. Our main
focus has been on the children returning to the school routines & feeling at ease with their friends. It has been so good
to see the older children looking after the younger children. Although school will feel ‘normal’ for the children again, we
are still ensuring that school is ventilated & that children wash their hands regularly to help minimise the spread of the
virus. It would be really helpful if the children could also wash their hands before leaving home in the morning each
day. The children all look really smart in their uniforms & their PE kits- thank you for ensuring jumpers & hoodies are
    named.
